For Immediate Release:
MCC is deeply saddened with the brutal murder of young girl Nabra Hussain in Fairfax, Virginia, near her local mosque. MCC prays for her maghfira. May Allah (SWT) give patience to the family. MCC condemns this hate crime in strong words. MCC also requests its community to be more vigilant while coming to the mosque for prayers.
We request all the youth, seniors and sisters not to walk alone, to walk in a lit area and always call 911 in case they see any suspicious activity.
MCC administration has requested the respective police departments for stepped up police petrol around our Mosques. We have also stepped up our own security in and around the mosques for Ramadan end activities.
May Allah protect us all from the evil.

Q: What is the Fidyah, Fitrah, and Kaffarah amount?
A: Fidyah (monetary compensation) for fasting is only given when a person can never fast again. The Fidyah amount per missed Ramadan fast is $7.00 to be given to a poor person. If a person missed a fast in Ramadan, they should make it up after Ramadan and such a person does not need to give Fidya. Fitrah (Sadaqatul Fitr) is $7 per person irrespective of age.
If a person breaks a Ramadan fast intentionally without a valid reason, and has to take the feeding option for Kaffarah as a form of redemption, then the person will give $7 per day for sixty days to a poor person which equals to $420. (Please read Fiqh books for more details about the above issues.)
