Nomination Procedure

Summary of Changes in Nomination Procedure (Approved by a combined meeting of MCC Board and Committee Chairs on May 2012)

Voting members in good standing by August 31st (instead of previous date of June 30) are eligible to nominate. However, to be nominated for a position, one still has to be a voting member by June 30. Thus the announcement letters will be sent not only to current voting members, but also to individuals who would be eligible to vote and nominate if they paid their previous membership dues by August 31st.
The lists of (i) voting members, (ii) people who are not eligible to be nominated (because they have either completed their terms or are currently serving) and (iii) NOMINATORS will be provided and posted on MCC and MEC boards by the Secretary.

To be considered for a vacancy, a voting member must have at least two separate nominations (other than self) satisfying the basic qualifications (instead of previous 3 nominations). However, in the reserved category of female and youth, one nomination other than self shall suffice.

List of nominated individuals (from General Voting members) in each category will be compiled in preferential order of the number of nominations received by each individual (instead of previous list in alphabetical order by last name).
